Welcome to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells GP Training

A GP training programme is available at both Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells hospital sites. This runs for three years with a mix of hospital, community and GP practice placements to ensure a wide range of experience is attained. The hospital  placements are cross-site and the GP practice will be in the local area to where the scheme is based.

There is a strong team of Programme Directors on both sites who are available for help and guidance. In addition to this, Medical Education Administrators are on hand to deal with queries and assist Trainees in any way they can. Each Trainee is allocated a GP Trainer to support them through their three years of training. They will also have a Clinical Supervisor for each of their rotations.

Teaching is a vital part of our training, with seperate programmes for ST1/2s and a weekly programme for ST3 Trainees. As well learning from experienced teachers, teaching is also a great opportunity for Trainees to share their experiences and practice for qualifying exams such as the CSA.
